In conjunction with The Historic Magnolia House’s 75th birthday celebration, we are launching the Canvas & Culture Artist Series – a monthly artist showcase series.

In 2011, we put out a call to artists to identify six talented North Carolina artists who could develop pieces that could adorn our walls and reflect and pay tribute to one of our most inspirational guests, Miles Davis.

Each month, we will highlight one of these amazing artists. We will talk about the pieces they creating for The Historic Magnolia House, but also their creative process and portfolio as a whole. We will also have our artist be in attendance at one of our Sunday Brunches to discuss their pieces.

We kick off this series in February with artist Laticia Coleman who’s pieces are on display in our lounge aptly named after the father of Black History Month,  Carter G. Woodson. ‘Tish’ will also be in at our Sunday Brunch on February 23rd to talk about her pieces and her greater body of work.
