This Black History Month, The Historic Magnolia House is honored to host the NC Green Book Oasis Spaces Exhibit, created by the North Carolina African American Heritage Commission. The exhibit commemorates the 90th Anniversary of Victor Green’s Negro Traveler’s Green Book and explores the vital network of places, homes, hotels, restaurants, and businesses, that served as safe havens for Black travelers during segregation. Magnolia House proudly stands as one of those historic oasis spaces, where history, hospitality, and resilience converge. Through powerful storytelling, imagery, and interpretation, Oasis Spaces invites visitors to reflect on Black mobility, community care, and the enduring legacy of travel and refuge. Join us as we honor the past, uplift untold stories, and celebrate the spaces that made freedom of movement possible. Location: The Historic Magnolia House 442 Gorrell St., Greensboro NC On View: Starting Feb 16th – Feb 27th Come experience history where it lived and where it still welcomes you home. |
